Benoit Le Bars Earns Band 2 Ranking in Chambers Global Guide
IAL is pleased to announce that Benoit Le Bars has been ranked in Band 2 for Africa-wide International Arbitration in the Chambers Global Guide 2017.
Benoit Le Bars is the founding partner of Lazareff Le Bars law firm, one of the first independent law firms dedicated to international arbitration in Paris.
Benoit Le Bars has experience in arbitration forums around the world, but has earned particular recognition for his expertise and deep involvement in arbitration in Africa. He is particularly active in investor-state arbitration, often involving major investments and infrastructure projects.
Benoit Le Bars is also very committed to advancing arbitral practices across Africa as a means to generate positive economic benefits for states perceived as “arbitration friendly”. In particular, he was recently appointed to co-head the task force to create a new arbitration center for the eight-country IGAD region, which will have its headquarters in Djibouti.
As evidence of this commitment to Africa, Lazareff Le Bars created MIDAA (www.midaa.com), an online magazine that addresses the economic, legal and cultural challenges involved in doing business in Africa.
